Prairie Nordic Ski Club
We are a recreational cross country ski club based in Winnipeg dedicated to promoting and providing cross country ski opportunities in and around Winnipeg and southern Manitoba.

A passion for cross country skiing
We offer full, 1/2 day, weekend and multi-day recreational cross country ski trips throughout the winter season.
Ski Manitoba and beyond
Join us and ski the trails in and around Winnipeg and southern Manitoba including Sandilands, Bittersweet, Pinawa, Grand Beach, Birds Hill Park, Beaudry Park, Wildwood Park and Shannondale to name a few. Member led trips offer an opportunity to ski in a group and experience the many ski trails within driving distance of Winnipeg.
Meet new people
Have fun and meet many like-minded people year round through club social events, skiing, off-season activities and volunteering to help run the club or organize trips.

Attend our free club group lesson (Hill & Skill) or for more instruction, sign up for our 3 week group ski lessons(for a fee).

Full and 1/2 Day Ski Trips
Full day and half day ski trips are offered every week during the ski season.
Members sign up for trips through our Prairie Nordic Ski Club Meetup site.
Multi-day Ski Trips
Several weekend and multi-day ski trips are offered each season, as well as a week long trip to Canmore.
A group reservation is negotiated by the Club and members are responsible for contacting the hotel to book and pay for their accommodation. Typical destinations include Riding Mountain, Turtle Mountain and Kenora.
Bus Trips
Bus trips to more distant destinations are offered each season. Sit back and relax as a chartered bus takes you to Spruce Woods, Falcon Lake, Hecla Island, Turtle Mountain, Riding Mountain and Kenora to name a few. (To purchase tickets see the Membership page).
Social Events
Join us for our social events. The Pot Luck & GM in November, Social Evening in December, Pool Night in March and AGM in April. Guests welcome.
Ski Lessons
Free Group Lesson in January at our Hill & Skill & Food Fill.
Sign up for our 3 weeks of group ski lessons(for a $ fee).
Lesson are led by CANSI certified instructors at Windsor Park Nordic Centre. (See the Membership page to register.)
Summer Program
It doesn’t end when the snow melts ! Join us for cycling and hiking in the summer.
Club Information
To participate in club ski trip events you must be a Prairie Nordic Ski Club member. Members may bring guests to social events only. To “Try Us Out” email us at Prairienordicskiclub@gmail.com. Guests are permitted to attend 1 summer and 1 winter event a year.
All trips are rated from 1 to 5 based on difficulty, see our Trip Rating guide at Rating Guide.
Trips may be cancelled if insufficient registrations are received by the registration deadline. All events are non-smoking. No dogs allowed.
We are volunteer run.
Trip Policies
- Event information can be found on our Meetup site Prairie Nordic Ski Club Meetup
- Members register for trips through our Meetup site based on the Trip Rating.
- The leader provides the details of the trip: when and where the meeting place is, when we expect to arrive and leave the venue, etc.


Membership
- Our club is affiliated with CCSAM and Nordiq Canada
- All Members are required to purchase a CCSAM membership and sign the Nordiq Canada “Informed Consent and Assumption of Risk Agreement” form.
- The ski club uses the online event registration system hosted by Zone 4 for club registration and event payment. Credit Card only is accepted.
